
Marquette Pushes Past Valparaiso, 5-2

The Marquette University men's tennis team (2-1) won its second-straight match on Saturday afternoon, defeating Valparaiso (0-2), 5-2, at Helfaer Tennis Stadium.
The Golden Eagles are in the midst of a season-long five-match homestand and face UIC on Sunday afternoon at 12 p.m.
MU opened the match by claiming the doubles point and were able to claim the first three wins in singles action to secure the team win. For the second-straight match, sophomore Luke Smrek earned the victory with a straight-set decision at No. 2 singles.
Also claiming singles wins for Marquette were Brett Meyers, Greg Anderson and Brandon Shanklin.
