Women's Tennis Drops 4-0 Match at FIU

MIAMI-The Marquette women's tennis team fell 4-0 to No. 38 FIU on Saturday afternoon.
The match started with a closely contested doubles point that featured FIU taking the first game 6-4. Marquette pair Andrea Amortegui and Paula Tormos Sanchez then won the second 6-2 before the Panthers secured the point with a 6-1 victory in the deciding third game.
In singles action, Andrea Lazaro won out of the top slot for FIU over Natalija Popovic and the Panthers took each of the three completed matches to earn the win and improve to 8-1 on the season.
For the Golden Eagles, the loss drops them to 15-8 on the season. Marquette is in action again versus Butler March 25 at 12 p.m. Central time before heading to San Antonio for a two-match road swing at Texas State and University of Texas San Antonio.
