
Marquette Sweeps Butler, 7-0

MILWAUKEE--The Marquette women's tennis team welcomed its return to Helfaer Tennis Stadium on Sunday as the Golden Eagles earned a 7-0 victory over BIG EAST foe Butler.
Marquette (6-7) started strong and claimed the doubles points to lead off the match.
In singles action Natalija Popovic gave MU its second point with a 6-0, 6-2 victory at the No. 2 position, while Andrea Amortegui's 6-1, 6-2 win on the No. 4 court gave the Golden Eagles a 3-0 advantage in the match. Lesley Foe earned a swift 6-2, 6-0 decision at No. 6 singles, which clinched the match victory for Marquette.
Paula Tormos Sanchez won her match at the No. 1 position, 6-3, 6-1, while Fleur Eggink (6-3, 6-3) and Isabella Franks (6-1, 7-6) also won their matches to complete the sweep for MU.
The Golden Eagles will travel to Texas next week for a pair of contests beginning at Texas State on Thursday, March 29 at 2 p.m. CT.
