This is part of a series on the Marquette experiences of the men's lacrosse team's 2018 senior class.
Teddy Goltzman, a real estate major, has been an integral part of MU's midfield during his senior year. The Edina, Minnesota native has also showed dedication to his studies by achieving BIG EAST All-Academic status each year.
1. What is your proudest moment as a Marquette lacrosse player?
Teddy Goltzman: My proudest moment as a player was winning the first BIG EAST trophy. To be a part of something that special was something that will stick with me forever.
2. What is your most memorable experience with the team?
Goltzman: Freshman year going to Florida with the team and spending a week in Disney World.
4. What's the best advice a teammate has given you?
Goltzman: It is ok to fail.
5. What's the best advice you could offer future Marquette lacrosse players?
Goltzman: That no matter how tough things get to always push through because the life lessons you learn along the way will help you long after lacrosse is over. I see the program competing for a national championship in the near future.
6. What has motivated you?
Goltzman: Proving to everyone that I belong on the Division I level.
7. Most memorable game?
Goltzman: Bellarmine this year. Though it was a horrible loss, it was my first ever goal in a Marquette uniform.
8. Describe how you felt during your very first practice or team activity.
Goltzman: I was nervous that I wasn't going to be good enough.
9. Describe how you felt before your first game. Has that feeling changed?
Goltzman: I felt pretty calm, I never really get nervous before games. I really just keep myself loose and relaxed.
10. Do you feel a rivalry developing with any opponents you have played?
Goltzman: I think Villanova and Denver are huge rivalry games and no matter how either team has been playing it will always be a competitive game.
11. How do you think you've changed as a player or person over your career at Marquette?
Goltzman: I think I have grown from a very closed off freshman to a person that wants to see everyone succeed. I have tried to take players under my wing and help them through the lows and hardships that come with playing at this level.
12. What have you learned that you will take with you as you move on from MU?
Goltzman: I will have the ability to deal with any type of person in the workforce. Having people from every background you learn how to effectively communicate with different types of people.
13. What are your post-graduation plans?
Goltzman: I will be working for Dominium and Real Estate Development firm based out of Plymouth, Minnesota. I will be applying for grad school as well.
