MILWAUKEE - Marquette University inducted eight new members into the M Club Hall of Fame on Wednesday evening at the Alumni Memorial Union on campus. They include Jerel McNeal, Jim McIlvaine, Krystal Ellis, Angel Robinson, Natalie Kulla, Kerry McBride, Ciara Jones and Jose Itarte.
Honored are a pair of former student-athletes from men's basketball, women's basketball and women's soccer, while the women's volleyball and men's soccer teams are also represented.
All-time leading scorers Jerel McNeal (2006-09) and Krystal Ellis (2006-09) were selected from men's and women's basketball, respectively, and are joined by former national defensive player of the year, Jim McIlvaine (1991-94), and WNBA draftee Angel Robinson (2008-11).
Kerry McBride (2008-11) and Natalie (Kulla) Meyer (2007-11) were selected for their roles in the women's soccer program's unparalleled run of success during the early portion of this decade. The pair helped MU to four-straight NCAA Championship appearances and began a run that saw the Golden Eagles drop just one conference match in the four years from 2010-13.
Former AVCA All-American Ciara Jones (2008-11) was part of an instrumental group of women's volleyball players who helped start a run of seven consecutive NCAA tournament appearances that extends to the current day. She helped MU to its first NCAA appearance in 2011 as a senior.
Jose Itarte (1982-85) is the all-time leading scorer for the men's soccer program with 52 career goals, along with fellow M Club Hall of Famer Hayden Knight. He paced two of the highest scoring men's soccer teams in program history and led MU in goals all four years.
To be eligible for induction in the M Club Hall of Fame, student-athletes must be five years removed from their final year of eligibility at Marquette. The date and time of the induction for this class will be announced later this spring.
