Blue & Gold Fund Introduces New Annual Benefits Program

Maximizing the donor experience for the benefit of Marquette student-athletes
MILWAUKEE - In the 2018 fiscal year, for the first time, support to Marquette University Intercollegiate Athletics and the Blue & Gold Fund eclipsed the $5 million mark for annual scholarship funding provided to student-athletes. Even further, the Blue & Gold Fund surpassed 5,000 total donors for the first time.
"We could not be more thrilled about the support we can extend our student-athletes year in and year out," says Vice President and Director of Athletics, Bill Scholl. "The generosity of the Marquette community allows our department to continue to reach new heights on the playing fields, but most importantly, in the classroom."
Still, the ultimate goal of the Blue & Gold Fund is to generate enough funding to cover all 136 of the full athletic scholarships permitted by the NCAA each year. In order to achieve that goal, the Blue & Gold Fund is introducing a comprehensive benefits program which will directly impact the experience of all Marquette donors, while also providing additional perks to season ticket members who give back to Marquette.
"This new initiative will help continue to grow the financial support we can provide every one of our student-athletes, while showing our fans that we truly appreciate what they do for this University," Scholl said.
The benefits program provides additional value to annual contributions made to the Blue & Gold Fund, Marquette Sport Excellence Funds and Marquette University through special athletics events, access to hospitality areas and complimentary parking at home men's basketball games, early access to additional tickets, along with many others.
Donors, who are season ticket members, will qualify for the benefits listed at each donation level, as long as that gift is completed or pledged before the start of each men's basketball season. Pledges must be completed by the end of the Marquette Fiscal Year (July 1 -June 30) in order to receive benefits for the following season. Scholarship contributions corresponding with season tickets are credited to annual benefits. Season ticket members seeking to increase to the next benefits level can make a contribution covering the difference from their total scholarship contribution and the desired benefit level. All gifts made within the Marquette Fiscal Year are credited the same toward priority points.
