Marquette Wraps Up Play At River Forest Invite

Khalafallah earns first career win
Six members of the Marquette University men's tennis team wrapped up play Sunday afternoon at the season-opening River Forest Collegiate Invitational, hosted by Northern Illinois.
The Golden Eagles competed in singles and doubles action during the three-day event. Individual highlights included the first collegiate victory for freshman Shaddy Khalafallah, who downed Victor Solidorio 7-6, 6-4 in the No. 6 singles draw.
Marquette will continue its fall season at a pair of events next weekend, competing in the Milwaukee Tennis Classic and the Oracle ITA Masters. Senior Alvaro Verdu earned an invitation to the ITA event by earning BIG EAST Player of the Year accolades in 2017-18.
