In a dual meet at crosstown foe Milwaukee, the women prevailed while the men came up a little bit short
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University track and field teams resumed indoor action on Saturday. The women (80-70) were victorious, while the men (69-76) came up short in a dual against crosstown foe Milwaukee as part of the John Tierney Classic held at the Klotsche Center Fieldhouse.
Â
"It was a close meet. Everybody competed hard and we had a lot of energy, but it was definitely a little rusty being as it was our first meet in January. Overall, I was very pleased," said Marquette head coach Bert Rogers. "I loved the enthusiasm and teamwork and there was a lot of good stuff to build off of. We're looking forward to continuing the season next week at Iowa."
Â
In a meet that included 14 events, the women's team notched eight victories, while the men claimed six.
Â
The team is back in action next Friday-Saturday, Jan. 25-26, at the Black and Gold Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa.
