NEW YORK-- Marquette University senior Natisha Hiedeman was named BIG EAST Player of the Week, the league office announced on Monday after leading the Golden Eagles to a pair of victories last week, remaining unbeaten in BIG EAST play.
The Green Bay native averaged 25.5 points, 6.0 boards, 5.0 steals and 4.5 assists as the Golden Eagles (16-3, 7-0) toppled Seton Hall and bested St. John's in home wins last week. Against the Pirates, Hiedeman notched a BIG EAST weekly best of 28 points and increased her season average to 18.6 points per game overall and a stellar 24.0 in league play, more than five points higher than the next closest scorer.Â
This is the third straight weekly award for Hiedeman and her second BIG EAST Player of the Week honor. Marquette will embark on a three-game road swing beginning Friday, Jan. 25 at Xavier.Â
