Balthazor Leads Men's Tennis On Day One At Purdue

Freshman advances to flight semifinals
The Marquette University men's tennis team opened play at the Purdue Invitational Friday afternoon with both singles and doubles competition in West Lafayette, Ind.
The Golden Eagles are represented by six players at the event, the squad's second of the fall campaign.
Freshman Nathan Balthazor led the way on day one, posting a pair of straight-set victories. He advanced to the semifinal match of the Flight F draw and will make a bid for the title on Saturday morning.
Balthazor also teamed up with sophomore Shaddy Khalafallah for a win in the Flight B doubles bracket. In Flight C action, junior Julian Robinson and newcomer Will Tennison were also victorious.
Play resumes at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
