The 6'4 middle blocker will arrive in the summer
MILWAUKEE- The Marquette University women's volleyball team and head coach Ryan Theis announces the signing of Carsen Murray to a National Letter of Intent. Murray will arrive on campus in the summer and have four years of eligibility remaining.
Â
"I love Carsen's attitude, and athletic ability," Theis said. "As she gets more experience at the collegiate level, she will play a dominate role at Marquette."
Â
Murray is a 6'4 middle blocker from Lee's Summit, Missouri and a four-year letterwinner at Blue Springs South High School. She was selected second-team all-conference in 2019 as well as named to the first-team all-district and a MOKAN All-Star. In 2017 Murray earned honorable mention all-conference and second-team all-district honors while leading her team to three conference championships. She is ranked as the fourth best player in Missouri by PrepDig and is No. 88 on PrepVolleyball's Top-100 Senior Aces.
Â
In 2019, Murray helped her club team to a fifth-place finish at the Girls Junior National Championship and second place in the NLQ and MEQ National Qualifiers.
Â
"I chose Marquette because the volleyball team plays at such a high-level, as well at MU's strong academic reputation," Murray said.
Â
In high school, Murray was on the honor roll for four years, as well as a member of her school's honor society. She earned a cumulative GPA of 4.2 throughout her first three years of high school.
