Gabriel scored five goals against Louisville on Sunday

NEW YORK - Marquette University senior midfielder Grace Gabriel was named to the BIG EAST Conference's Weekly Honor Roll on Tuesday afternoon following a standout performance in Sunday's win over Louisville.

The BIG EAST Conference Preseason Midfielder of the Year posted five goals and eight draw controls against the Cardinals and had a hat trick by the half. The win over UL was MU's first in program history and Gabriel's goal total was one shy of a career best.

Gabriel was a five-time weekly honoree by the BIG EAST last season on her way to IWLCA Second Team All-America recognition.

Marquette resumes action on Friday, Feb. 15 at Cincinnati before returning to Valley Fields to host Detroit Mercy on Sunday afternoon.
