Knobbe and McKinney claim BIG EAST Field Athletes of the Week

The Marquette throwers aim for event titles at this week's BIG EAST Indoor Championships
NEW YORK āĀ Marquette University seniors Keely Knobbe and Brendan McKinney swept the BIG EAST Conference's Weekly Field Athlete of the Week awards, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon.
The pair each recorded new personal bests in the weight throw on Feb. 15 at Wisconsin's Red and White Classic in Madison and leads the league in the men's and women's events entering this weekend's conference championships.
KnobbeĀ becomes the second MU women's field athlete to claim the honor this season after setting a new Marquette record with a toss of 18.71 meters on Friday evening.
McKinney sits second in MU history in the men's weight throw behind former NCAA All-American William Koeck and recorded a distance of 20.51 meters at Madison to win.Ā The senior is the fourth MU men's field athlete to claim the league's top weekly honor, following fellow thrower Terrance Howard, as well as jumper Daniel Armstrong and multi athlete Joe Keys.
