Grace Gabriel repeats as BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week

Gabriel scored six goals in the comeback win at Kennesaw State

NEW YORK – Marquette University's Grace Gabriel was named the BIG EAST Conference Women's Lacrosse Midfielder of the Week for the second time in as many weeks, the league announced on Tuesday.

Gabriel scored a BIG EAST-best six goals and added seven draw controls for the Golden Eagles in a come-from-behind victory at Kennesaw State on Saturday afternoon. With MU trailing 14-9 midway through the second half, her fourth goal of the afternoon helped spark a 10-1 run to close out the game and hand Marquette a 19-15 victory.

The honor marks the seventh career midfielder of the week award for Gabriel and the second this season.

The Golden Eagles (3-2) return to action on Friday, March 1 at Ohio State.
