Grace Gabriel eclipses the program's all-time points record

NEW YORK – Marquette University women's lacrosse senior Grace Gabriel earned BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week, the league office announced on Tuesday.

Gabriel became the program's all-time points leader (172) over the weekend after collecting nine in a pair of wins. Her eight goals and one assist through the weekend propelled her past the previous program record (169) against Niagara on Sunday. The Lancaster, New York native also added in 12 draw controls, four ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers to lead the Golden Eagles to two road wins in her home state against Niagara and Canisius.

The conference weekly award marks Gabriel's sixth of the season and third as Midfielder of the Week.

Marquette wraps up its seven-game road swing on Thursday back in the Midwest at Central Michigan. First draw is set for 1 p.m. Central time.
