The senior midfielder scored four goals against No. 15 Denver
NEW YORK – Marquette University women's lacrosse senior midfielder Grace Gabriel has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll, the league office announced on Tuesday.
Gabriel led her team with four goals as the Golden Eagles posted the most goals by a Denver opponent in over a month. She also collected seven draw controls, propelling her past the program single-season record she set just last year (107). The Lancaster, New York native rounded out the stat sheet with two ground balls and two caused turnovers in Friday's setback.
Marquette still clinched a postseason berth marking it's second BIG EAST Championship appearance in as many years.
The award marks Gabriel's seventh of the season (four Midfielder of the Week; three Weekly Honor Roll).
The Golden Eagles close out regular season action against Georgetown on Saturday, April 27 at 2 p.m. Central time at Valley Fields. The contest doubles as both Senior Day and the team's annual pancreatic cancer awareness game in support of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network.
