Richard is one of only two players in MU history to reach 163 ground balls and 49 caused turnovers
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University senior Noah Richard earned BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll mention on Monday for his play against then-No. 12 Denver on Friday night in his final collegiate game.
Richard set a new career-high with 10 ground balls and matched a career best with four caused turnovers. Richard and the Golden Eagles helped limit DU to nine goals as both teams were held scoreless over the final 17:10 of regulation.
His ground ball total is the highest in Marquette history for a non-faceoff specialist and the second-highest mark for a BIG EAST player this season who does not primarily take face-offs. Richard's 71 ground balls rank as the second-best season total in program history and his 23 caused turnovers are No. 4 in a single season.
He ends his career fourth in MU history in ground balls (163) and third in caused turnovers (49) and is one of only two players in MU history to achieve both marks (2016 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year Liam Byrnes is the other).
Richard, who was the league's unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection at LSM last season, has earned four weekly conference honors this campaign. He has also been selected this spring in the collegiate drafts for both the Major League Lacrosse and Premier Lacrosse League.
