Gabriel earns the second all-region honor of her career
MILWAUKEE – Senior midfielder Grace Gabriel of the Marquette University women's lacrosse team was named to the IWLCA West/Midwest Region Second Team.
Gabriel led the Golden Eagles in 2019 with 59 goals and 65 points while also breaking her own single season program record with 119 draw controls. The Lancaster, New York native earned her second BIG EAST Co-Midfielder of the Year honors this season and was named the BIG EAST Midfielder of the Week on five occasions. Â
She surpassed the program record for career points this year and graduates as MU's career leader in points (196), goals (172), shots (428) and draw controls (324). Her unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST First Team was her third consecutive and she shared Co-Midfielder of the Year honors with Georgetown senior Francesca Whitehurst.
Gabriel earned IWLCA All-West/Midwest Region First Team accolades as a junior in 2018 on her way to IWLCA Second Team All-America honors.
