Noah Richard named USILA All-American

Richard is the sixth USILA All-American in Marquette history
MILWAUKEE – Marquette University senior long-stick midfielder Noah Richard was named an honorable mention All-American by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association it was announced on Thursday morning.
Richard was the BIG EAST Conference Defensive Player of the Year this season and the league's unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team selection at long-stick midfielder. The West Chester, Pa., native recorded 71 ground balls and caused 23 turnovers as a senior, while posting eight points on four goals and four assists. His season ground ball total is just two shy of Zachary Melillo's program record and ranks fourth in the BIG EAST.
Richard ends his career fourth in MU history in ground balls (163) and third in caused turnovers (49) and is one of only two players to achieve both marks (2016 BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year Liam Byrnes is the other). He was selected in the third rounds of both the MLL and PLL drafts by the Chesapeake Bayhawks and Atlas LC, respectively.
The USILA All-America recognition is the first of Richard's career, making him the sixth player in Marquette history to earn the honor. MU's other USILA All-Americans include Byrnes (2016), B.J. Grill (2016), Ryan McNamara (2016 and 2017), Tyler Melnyk (2014) and Richard's older brother and current MU assistant coach Jacob Richard (2016).
