Lindsey Mirkes places 26th at NCAA West Prelims

The sophomore competed in her first NCAA regional
SACRAMENTO, California – Marquette University sophomore Lindsey Mirkes placed 26th in the women's high jump at a height of 1.70 meters on Thursday afternoon at the 2019 NCAA Track & Field West Preliminary Rounds at Hornet Stadium in Sacramento, California.
Mirkes, who is coming off a runner-up finish at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships, entered the meet seeded 26th in the NCA West Region for her career-best height of 1.76 meters (5-9.25), set on May 3 at the Wisconsin Alumni Classic in Madison.
The De Pere, Wisconsin native sits in the No. 2 spot in Marquette history in the event behind former NCAA regional participant Erynn James, who holds the MU record at 1.80 meters (5-10.75).
The Golden Eagles continue action at the west regional with senior Terrance Howard competing in the discus on Friday evening. Daniel Armstrong and Samuel Johnson will close out action for the MU contingent on Saturday night in the men's high jump and triple jump, respectively.
