The Golden Eagles won in the 108th minute for their first victory of the season

MILWAUKEE – Junior Kylie Sprecher's right-footed blast in the 108th minute propelled the Marquette University women's soccer team to its first victory of the season over Michigan, 1-0, on Sunday afternoon at Valley Fields.
Sprecher played 49 minutes off the bench for the Golden Eagles (1-3) in their home opener and her goal came on her lone shot of the match from the top of the 18-yard box. The Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin native streaked up the right flank and bent her shot to the far corner over the outstretched arms of U-M keeper Hillary Beall.
MU was outshot 25-7 by the Wolverines (3-1) in the contest. For Michigan, which suffered its first defeat of the year, Nick Hernandez led the side with six shots, while Samantha DeVecchi posted three shots on frame in five attempts.
Marquette senior goalkeeper Maddy Henry notched 10 saves in the victory while playing every minute in net.
In a quiet first half of play, Henry recorded four saves as Michigan outshot Marquette, 11-4.
The Golden Eagles return to action at Minnesota on Thursday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m. CT.
