Lott, Spingola and Van Kleunen lead MU with 12 points each

OMAHA, Neb.—It was a battle throughout, but the Marquette women's basketball team dropped a 72-62 decision at Creighton on Friday night in BIG EAST action.

The Golden Eagles (9-4, 0-2) were led by veteran trio Selena Lott, Isabelle Spingola and Lauren Van Kleunen, each with 12 points, while freshman Camryn Taylor added eight points.

Senior Altia Anderson took down nine rebounds as Spingola grabbed eight with Lott handing out eight assists in the game.

Marquette shot 42.4 percent (28-66) from the floor to continue its streak of shooting better than 40 percent in every game this season. 38 of the Golden Eagles' were scored in the paint.

Creighton (11-3, 3-0) outscored MU 27-15 in the third quarter and was led by Jaylyn Agnew with 27 points and nine boards, while Temi Carda scored 17.
