Marquette University men's lacrosse players have scattered across the world since graduation. This Alumni Spotlight feature provides personal and professional updates on the student-athletes who represented the University on the field and continue to be ambassadors.
Kyle Whitlow was a four-year starter for the Golden Eagles and a 'year-one guy' on the 2011-12 academic year roster. He averaged nearly two points per game over his 50-game career and sits fourth in program history in both goals (70) and points (94). Whitlow was a two-time All-BIG EAST selection, a two-time team captain and an emotional leader for the 2016 squad, which won MU's first BIG EAST Championship and earned the No. 6 national seed in the NCAA Championship.
Kyle Whitlow | 2012-16 | Orillia, Ontario, Canada
Â
Current Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada
Â
Profession: I currently own a bakery, The Sweet Oven Toronto, on the east side of Toronto. After graduating Marquette my plan was to open my own business. It took a few years, but I was able to open in the summer of 2019.Â
Â
Best Memories: Besides meeting my wife (former women's volleyball player Julie Jeziorowski) and winning a BIG EAST Championship (in 2016), I'd have to say my best memory was the constant, everyday routine of practicing down at Valley Fields. Games were great, but I always enjoyed the process of working on my skill set. Being surrounded by a group of people, working towards the same goal.Â
Â
Fun Fact: Jake Richard never stopped me 1-on-1 except for the time he ankle stomped me.Â
