Marquette SHAPE Spotlighted in Being The Difference Series:
- The SAAC program SHAPE (Student Health Allies and Peer Educators) was recently spotlighted in the first installment of the Being The Difference series.
- This episode featured quotes from SHAPE members Madison Kane (WLAX), Zach Granger (MLAX) and Brynn Sunderland (WLAX), as well as Maureen Lewis, assistant director for academic services.

Teams Continue Training for Season:Ā
- Men's soccer completed its fourthĀ intrasquad scrimmage of the fall last week. Check out the notes, quotes, video highlights and interviews from MU men's soccer this fall.

- Women's lacrosse is also continuing practices, including a special practice last week titled "pink out practice," where the players and coaches wore pink to raise awareness for Breast Cancer.

Department Recognized for Use of High Level Technology:
- A recent article in Athletic Business spotlighted the high-tech weight room in the AHPRC at Marquette.
- The story detailed some of the training technologies, including force plates, rack cameras, scanning equipment and wearable tracking technology.

Partial MU Basketball Schedules Released:
- The MBB schedule up through Dec. 23 was released last week, featuring a number of talented non-conference opponents like Oklahoma State and UCLA, as well as the usual match against in-state rival Wisconsin.
- Early BIG EAST matchups include the Creighton Bluejays, Seton Hall Pirates, Xavier Musketeers and Villanova Wildcats.

- WBB announced its four BIG EAST conference games in December, including two home games (Providence and St. John's), as well as two games on the road (Seton Hall and Xavier).
Basketball Teams Participate in BIG EAST Media Day:
- MUWBB had their media day last Thursday. The Golden Eagles were ranked third in the BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll, behind UConn and DePaul.

- Coach Megan Duffy spoke to the media about a number of different topics throughout the day, including this question about the growth of sophomores Camryn Taylor and Jordan King.

Men's and Women's Basketball Players Earn Preseason BIG EAST Honors:
- MBB freshman Dawson Garcia was named the conference's Preseason Freshman of the Year. The 6-foot-11 forward was a consensus top-50 recruit in his class, and will likely play a big role on the squad this year.

- MBB sophomore DJ Carton was dubbed a Preseason All-BIG EAST Honorable Mention. The transfer from Ohio State is expected to immediately contribute to this MU team.

- WBB senior Selena Lott was selected to the Preseason All-BIG EAST First Team. The New York native led the team in scoring last year with 15.5 points per game, and put up 5.6 assists and steals per contest.

Men's Lacrosse Players Identify Biggest Lacrosse Influences:
- The men's lacrosse team released a video of a number of players shouting out their biggest influences in the sport of lacrosse.
- The student-athletes' answers ranged from their fathers (Ryan Fazio, Moey Lardy and Devon Cowan) and coaches (Anthony Courcelle) to lacrosse icons like Mikey Powell (Griffin Fries), Trevor Baptiste (Thomas Washington) and Kyle Harrison (Logan Kreinz).

- A number of women's basketball alumnae are currently playing overseas, including Katherine Plouffe ('14), 2020 graduates Altia Anderson and Isabelle Spingola, as well as 2019 grads Allazia Blockton, Erika Davenport and Natisha Hiedeman.

- Multiple MU Athletics alumni were highlighted last week, including two volleyball and one men's lacrosse players.
- The first was Ciara Jones (MUVB '11), a 2018 M Club Hall of Fame inductee who is now an assistant volleyball coach and recruiting coordinator at Howard University.
