She scored a team-leading seven goals in three games last week

NEW YORK – Marquette University freshman Hannah Greving was named the BIG EAST Freshman of the Week, the conference announced today.

The Western Springs, Illinois native Greving was the steady scorer for the Golden Eagles last week, going for a combined seven goals in a 2-1 week which included home wins over Canisius and Niagara.

She scored her first two career goals at Louisville on Monday and two more against the Griffins on Friday before notching a hat trick against Niagara on Sunday.

The honor is the first of Greving's career and she's the first Golden Eagle to earn BIG EAST Freshman of the Week since Shea Garcia earned the award three times in 2019.

Marquette (3-2) returns to action on the road at Arizona State on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 1 p.m. Central time.
