Senior Reflections: Cole Froemming

Froemming is a three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection
1. What is your proudest moment as a Marquette lacrosse player?
Cole Froemming: Winning the 2017 BIG EAST Championship my freshman year was something I'll never forget. The grit and passion our seniors played with that weekend was incredible. They were playing for more time – something I couldn't fully understand until now.
2. What is your most memorable experience with the team?
Froemming: Probably our fall trip to San Francisco my sophomore year. We got to take a few days and explore the city before scrimmaging Utah and Team Scotland. It was a great trip.
3. What's the best advice one of your coaches at MU has given you?
Froemming: "Just play. When you play, you make plays." – Coach Jacob RichardÂ
4. What's the best advice a teammate has given you?
Froemming: Once you realize "Hey, I can do this," you never go back. When things don't go your way, you stick with it. All gas, no breaks!
5. What's the best advice you could offer future Marquette lacrosse players?
Froemming: 1. Have fun. Always.
2. Your teammates are going to be your brothers for life. Dive into your relationships with everyone and really invest yourself fully.
3. Never let the pressure of a situation steal the joy of the experience. Otherwise, why are we doing this?
6. What has motivated you?Â
Froemming: Playing for my boys on the team. I love them more than the world itself and always want to go out there and give them something to cheer about.
7. Most memorable game?
Froemming: Comeback against Denver in the BIG EAST semifinals my freshman year.
8. Do you feel a rivalry developing with any opponents you have played?Â
Froemming: We definitely have a rivalry going with Georgetown. I think we've played them to a 1-2 goal game every year. It doesn't matter how much you're up or down. You're never safe till that final whistle blows.
9. How do you think you've changed as a player or person over your career at Marquette?
Froemming: I've changed in more ways than I thought possible. I've grown tremendously as a friend, teammate, and leader. I have more confidence in myself knowing that I've had the privilege of spending the last four years with some of the greatest human beings I've ever met.
10. What have you learned that you will take with you as you move on from MU?
Froemming: Don't take yourself too seriously – Life's short, enjoy it.Â
11. What are your post-graduation plans?
Froemming: I'll be working in Minneapolis at Dominium Development & Acquisitions as an analyst.
