267 MU Student-Athletes Named to BIG EAST All-Academic Team:
- Eighty-three percent of Marquette University's 320 student-athletes were named to the 2019-20 BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
- A total of 267 Marquette student-athletes appeared on the list, led by 44 men's lacrosse student-athletes. This year's total is the most Marquette has ever put on the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, topping last year's number of 220.
Over 80 percent of Marquette student-athletes were named to the #BIGEAST All-Academic Team for recording GPAs of 3.0 or above in 2019-20. #WeAreMarquette

MU Receives Exceptional Marks in Latest Academic Progress Rate Release:
- Marquette University student-athletes are demonstrating success in the classroom and continue to perform at a high level, a trend that is documented in the latest Academic Progress Rate (APR) report, which was released by the NCAA recently. Of Marquette's 16 NCAA Division I programs, 13 posted a four-year APR average that was at or above the national average for their respective sport.
- Marquette's men's tennis, men's and women's cross country and track & field teams were each recognized for scores in the top 10 percent of their respective sport. Men's tennis, men's and women's cross country and women's track & field posted perfect APR scores of 1,000.

#MUBB in the NBA:
- Former Golden Eagles Jimmy Butler, Jae Crowder and Wes Matthews are playing in the NBA's quarantined restarts.
- Jae Crowder and Jimmy Butler are both starters for the Miami Heat and put up a combined stat-line of 32 points, 13 rebounds and 8 assists last Monday against the Raptors.
- Butler injured his foot and missed Miami's final three games last week but is scheduled to return tonight against the Indiana Pacers.
- Jae Crowder had two breakout games in a row, notching 15 points and four rebounds against the Bucks (Aug. 6) and 17 points against the Suns (Aug. 8).

- Fellow MUBB alum Wes Matthews made his bubble debut for the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday in a 130-116 victory, scoring nine points in 23 minutes of action.

- Matthews played 28 minutes and tallied six points and three boards on Saturday in an overtime loss to the Dallas Mavericks.
- The WNBA began its quarantine restart at the end of July. WBB alum Natisha Hiedeman ('19) plays for the Connecticut Sun. The former unanimous BIG EAST Player of the Year is averaging 5.9 points, 2.4 rebounds and 2.1 assists through seven games.
- Hiedeman and the Sun are just 1-6 thus far but she scored a career-best 14 points in a win over the Dallas Wings on Thursday.

MLAX Players Competing in the PLL:
- Three alumni of the men's lacrosse team are competing in the Premier Lacrosse League's Championship Series this summer. BJ Grill and Noah Richard both played for Waterdogs LC, while current assistant coach Jake Richard was a member of Atlas LC. Additionally, volunteer assistant Brendan Kavanagh played for Chrome LC in the tournament.

- Richard, a former USILA All-American and now the MU defensive coordinator, commented on life inside the PLL bubble last week.

Track & Field Head Coach Bert Rogers Checks in Over the Summer:
- Track and field head coach Bert Rogers talked about his team's upcoming year and commented on some of the difficulties of the uncertainty facing the fall season.
- "The biggest challenges have been the unknown. Things change so often and we don't always know what exactly to say to everybody," Rogers said. "I definitely rely heavily on my assistant coaches and coaches in the different event areas to help out with communication."

MSOC Alum Patrick Seagrist Chats About the MLS Bubble:
- MSOC alumnus Patrick Seagrist took part in the #MLSIsBack restart earlier this month, playing with the New York Red Bulls.
- "Overall it's been a unique experience," Seagrist said. "We were trying to make it as normal and as close to what we would be doing here in New Jersey (as possible). We were trying to replicate that as much as possible and make it feel like home."
MU Golfers Compete on Amateur Circuit:
- Redshirt junior golfer Hunter Eichhorn has been competing on the world amateur golf circuit this summer. The 2018 BIG EAST Individual Champion has finished as high as 89th twice on the year, and has not placed below 101st this summer. His next appearance will be at the 120th U.S. Amateur Championship at Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon from Aug. 10-16.

- Redshirt sophomore Tyler Leach has also competed at a high level, placing as the runner-up at the 119th Wisconsin State Amateur Championship. The 2018-19 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year is one of the top players in the state, and finished 74th at the Sunnehanna Amateur Tournament for Champions.

Cross Country Head Coach Sean Birren Talks About Year Two as the Man in Charge of MUXC:
- "I definitely feel more settled in than I was at this time last year," Birren said. "This is a great group of student-athletes we have and I've been fortunate to have the opportunity to continue to grow with them over the years."
- MUXC had a school-record of four All-BIG EAST finishers at the conference championships last fall. The men's team tied it's best-ever finish, placing fourth with a program-best 99 points while the women's team took sixth for the second year in a row.

MSOC Hires Alum Danny Jarosz ('18) as New Assistant Coach:
- Former defender Danny Jarosz ('18) has been tabbed as the new assistant coach with Marquette men's soccer team. He replaces another MU alumnus, Bryan Ciesiulka ('13), who served as an assistant coach on head coach Louis Bennett's staff from 2018-20.
- "I couldn't be more excited to have the opportunity to join the Marquette coaching staff," Jarosz said. "I had such a fantastic experience as a student-athlete at MU and my coaching staff and support staff played a big role in that. I'd like to thank Bill Scholl and Louis Bennett for the opportunity to come back to Marquette and help guide the development of our student-athletes."
