MU will welcome Daugherty, Holmstrom, Ifill and Ring this summer
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University women's volleyball team has announced the addition of Morgan Daugherty, Ella Holmstrom, Sienna Ifill and Natalie Ring for the fall of 2022.
All four will arrive at Marquette over the summer and each have four years of NCAA eligibility remaining.
"I really like this collection of young ladies in our incoming freshman class," said Marquette head coach Ryan Theis. "They come from terrific families and will fit right in with our culture. They are high-end athletically and academically. With our large group of senior/super-senior pin attackers, we needed to reload. The class has a nice combination of big arms and height above the net. I look forward to getting them here this summer."
The class includes four hitters and three nationally ranked recruits in Holmstrom, Ifill and Ring, each of whom are in the Prep Volleyball Top 150 for the class of 2022. Holmstrom (Rockford, Illinois/Guilford High School) is ranked as the No. 42 player in the country, while Ring earned second team AVCA All-America honors this fall at Edgewood High School in Madison, Wisconsin. Ifill was an AVCA All-America Honorable Mention at Eagan High School in Minnesota and Daugherty was a 2019 AAU All-American.
As AVCA High School All-Americans, Ring and Ifill join four others on Marquette's roster in Hannah Vanden Berg (2018), Aubrey Hamilton (2019), Ella Foti and Jenna Reitsma (2020).
Holmstrom was a club teammate of Daugherty (Brookfield, Wisconsin/Brookfield Central) with VC United, while Ring played high school and club volleyball with Foti.
Marquette previously announced that two-time NJCAA Division I Player of the Year Yadhira Anchante and 2019 Wisconsin Gatorade Player of the Year Aubrey Hamilton, an outside hitter from Hartland, Wisconsin by way of Notre Dame, would join the Golden Eagles for the spring semester.
The Golden Eagles went 26-6 and are coming off a BIG EAST Conference regular season championship and 10th NCAA tournament appearance this fall. They are set to lose seven players from this year's roster, including all-conference performers at setter, outside hitter and middle blocker.
