
Taylor Wolf and Hope Werch are AVCA All-Region

LEXINGTON, Kentucky - Marquette University graduate students Taylor Wolf and Hope Werch have each earned AVCA All-East Region honors, the American Volleyball Coaches Association announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Wolf, who is on the AVCA All-East Region Team, has earned all-region accolades for the fourth time in her collegiate career, while Werch, a honorable mention selection, is all-region for the second time (2019).Â
Wolf led all of NCAA Division I volleyball with eight triple-doubles on the year and was among the BIG EAST's leaders in hitting percentage (ninth, .300), kills (10th, 2.86/set), assists (12th, 5.41/set), service aces (32 total aces), and digs (2.81/set). The graduate student rarely left the court, serving as both a right side hitter and setter in MU's 6-2 offense on her way to BIG EAST Conference Co-Player of the Year honors. She was also a two-time Horizon League Player of the Year during her tenure at Green Bay.Â

Werch totaled 3.02 kills per set while leading the BIG EAST with 0.51 service aces per frame. The six-rotation hitter sits atop the MU career leaderboard for service aces and is the first Marquette player to reach 1,000 kills, 1,000 digs and 150 service aces. The graduate student has earned an All-BIG EAST honors the past three seasons, was an AVCA All-East Coast Region honoree in 2019 and the 2017 BIG EAST Freshman of the Year.

The pair advances to the AVCA All-America ballot, the results of which will be revealed on Wednesday, Dec. 15.
