
Golf tied for 15th after 36 holes at The Prestige

LA QUINTA, California – The Marquette University men's golf team fell into a tie for 15th at The Prestige after Tuesday's action in a loaded 24-team field at the PGA West - Greg Norman Course.
The Golden Eagles, who sat sixth following Monday's opening round, fell nine spots on the team leaderboard with Tuesday's 15-over-par 299. For the event MU is 17-over (286-299--585) and two strokes behind San Diego State and Colorado who are tied for 13th at 15-over.
The Prestige field includes a total of six ranked teams, including No. 3 Arizona State, No. 5 Pepperdine and No. 9 San Diego State. Pepperdine and ASU lead the field after day one at 8-under (281-279--560) and 5-under (276-297--563), respectively.
Redshirt freshman Aidan Lafferty (T-10 (-1), 70-71--141) led MU on Tuesday with an even-par 71. He shot a 1-under 34 on the front nine with a pair of birdies offsetting one bogey, before posting a 1-over 37 on the back nine.
Lafferty led the Golden Eagles with six birdies on Monday.
Hunter Eichhorn, who led MU on Monday with a 2-under 69, fell from seventh to tied for 25th on the individual leaderboard on Tuesday. Eichhorn (+1, 69-74--143) notched three consecutive birdies on holes 11-13, but ended his round with a double bogey on the 18th.
The team's individual competitors, Scott Schlader and Connor Brown, also competed at Coral Mountain Golf Club in a separate individual event in La Quinta.
The Prestige runs through Wednesday and live scoring updates can be found online through Golfstat.
