ESPN features 6 p.m. CT broadcast
The Marquette University men's basketball team has added a non-conference game to its 2020-21 schedule at North Carolina on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
ESPN2 and ESPN Milwaukee will feature coverage of the 6 p.m. CT matchup.
The Golden Eagles had a 10-day break in their schedule between the Feb. 17 win at Butler (73-57) and the team's next outing at UConn on Feb. 27, due in part to the move of an originally scheduled Feb. 20 matchup against St. John's at Fiserv Forum to Jan. 31.
The Tar Heels scheduled the game after their outing at Boston College on Tuesday, February 23, was postponed with no makeup date scheduled.
The addition of the game extends Marquette's current road swing to six games. The Golden Eagles last played at Fiserv Forum on Feb. 6 (vs. Creighton) and won't return until March 6 when the program hosts Xavier on Senior Day and National Marquette Day.
Marquette hasn't played six-straight regular-season road games since the 1959-60 season.
The Golden Eagles are 1-4 all-time against UNC, but that one victory came in the 1977 National Championship game, a 67-59 decision on March 28, 1977. The two programs last met in the 2011 NCAA Tournament, with North Carolina claiming an 81-63 win in the Sweet 16 in Newark, N.J.
