
Track & Field To Recognize Seniors At Final Home Meet

Track events hosted at Wisconsin Lutheran to allow fan attendance
The Marquette University track and field teams will host their second home meet of the season on Saturday, welcoming a trio of programs to the Marquette Invitational.

Along with the Golden Eagles, DePaul, Parkside and Bryant and Stratton will compete in the field events on Marquette's campus before transitioning to Wisconsin Lutheran College for the remainder of the events at 4 p.m. CT. WLC's Raabe Stadium will serve as host to allow for fan attendance currently not possible at the Shimek Track & Field Facility because of Covid-19 protocols.

Along with competition, Saturday will be highlighted by a recognition of the program's senior class at approximately 7 p.m. CT.

Last weekend's Marquette Open was highlighted by 47 total personal records, 28 first-place finishes, three program top-10 marks and one facility record.Â

Lindsey Mirkes' effort of 5-08.75 in the high jump was not only good enough to claim first place at the meet, it was also the fourth-best effort in the program's record book. With the jump, she set the new facility standard, breaking Ifoma Jones' height of 5-08.50, which she set for Houston in 1999.
Class of 2021
A four-year letterwinner, two-time team captain and member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Anna Buckstaff has been involved in a leadership role with Marquette's SHAPE mental health initiative and also active with SAAC and the department's LEAD program.
Anna will graduate in May with a double major in psychology and cognitive science.
Kelsey Hunn has represented the Golden Eagles in multiple events during her four-year career, collecting several top-10 program marks during both the indoor and outdoor campaigns.
A member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Kelsey will graduate in May with a degree in psychology.
Pole vaulter Kelly Jacoby has competed for Marquette each of the last four seasons and will leave the program in possession of a top-10 indoor height of 11-7 in the event, which she posted in 2019-20, and also owns the 10th-ranked outdoor mark.
A three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic team, Kelly graduates in May with a degree in biomedical sciences, with minors in biological science and neuroscience.
A multiple All-BIG EAST selection, Madison Marko's name is scattered throughout the program's record book. She leaves the program in possession of several top-10 marks in the long jump, 100 meters, 4x100 relay and 4x400 relay and was runner-up in the long jump at the BIG EAST championship in 2019-20.
Maddy graduated with a degree in nursing in 2020 and will earn her master's in healthcare tech management in August of 2021.
A BIG EAST high jump champion as a freshman, Marin McClowry is a three-time all-league selection in the event. She owns program top-10 marks in both indoor and outdoor competition, was active in SAAC and is a MAGIS mentor.
A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic team selection, Marin graduates in May with a degree in psychology.
 An All-BIG EAST performer in a pair of events and former team captain, Emma Moravec owns the program's school record in the 800 meters and is third all-time at the 600-meter distance. She also owns the freshman record in the 600 and is a three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
Moravec also excels in the classroom, where she owns a perfect 4.0 grade-point-average and will graduate in May with a degree in bioelectronic engineering.
Alexa Schmitt is a transfer from Cornell who saw action last year during the indoor season in the long jump, competing in a pair of meets.
A member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team, Schmitt graduates is May with a degree in biomedical sciences and a minor in business administration.
Ross Bravo is a two-time All-BIG EAST performer, claiming the accolades in the 110-meter hurdles as a freshman and the 60-meter hurdles as a sophomore. His time of 8.25 in the 60-meter hurdles is currently number 4 all-time in the program's indoor record book. He was also part of the school record shuttle hurdle relay team at the 2018 Drake Relays.
A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection, Ross graduates in May with a double major in computer science and mathematics.
Four-year letterwinner Patrick Bruch has been a consistent performer in multiple distance events over the course of his career and off the track serves as a MAGIS mentor. He was named the cross country team's most improved in 2018.

Alex Gill has represented Marquette in cross country, indoor and outdoor competitions during his career in a variety of events, including his outdoor debut last weekend in the 1500 at the Marquette Open. He was named the outstanding freshman for the cross country team in 2017.
Alex will graduate in May with a double major in information systems and operations and supply chain management and is a three-time member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team.
A BIG EAST champion in the pole vault during the 2019 indoor season, Cameron Jemison is a two-time all-conference performer in the event. He owns top-3 program marks for the indoor and outdoor campaigns with a height of 15-11.
Cameron is a three-time BIG EAST All-Academic team honoree and graduates in May with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Ryan Neville has competed for Marquette in both indoor and outdoor action each of the last three seasons after transferring from the University of St. Thomas.Â
A two-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection, Ryan graduates in May with a double major in international affairs and military history and spent last summer at the Les Aspin Center for Government as an intern.
Michael Oechsner is a four-year letterwinner who has competed in a variety of sprint events and also as a relay-team member, including action at the BIG EAST Championships.
A three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team member, Michael is a MAGIS mentor and will graduate Summa Cum Laude in May with a degree in civil engineering.
Danny Peterson is a four-year letterwinner who has competed in every indoor, outdoor and cross country campaign since his arrival on campus in 2017-18. A majority of his action came in the distance events, including participation in the BIG EAST Championships.
Danny will graduate in May with a degree in nursing and was a three-time BIG EAST All-Academic team selection.
Sam Sagan has competed in multiple events during his tenure at Marquette, highlighted by All-BIG EAST honors in the decathlon at the 2017 BIG EAST Championships after finishing second. He is also a member of the 4x400 meter relay team with the third-best time in school history and he was also a point scorer in the 400 meters at the BIG EAST meet.
Sam earned his bachelor's degree in 2020 and will complete his master's degree in economics in May.
Kevin Sherwood is a four-year letterwinner who has appeared in both indoor and outdoor competition and represented Marquette at the BIG EAST championships on multiple occasions, including in the heptathlon and 4x400 relay.
Kevin graduates in May with a degree in accounting and is a three-time BIG EAST All-Academic Team honoree.
Four-year letterwinner Paolo Tiongson has represented Marquette each of the last four seasons at the BIG EAST Cross Country Championships and recorded his career-best finish this season. He has also seen action during the indoor and outdoor campaigns in the distance events.
Paolo graduates in May with a degree in economics, including a minor in marketing.
Distance runner Joshua Urban is a four-year letterwinner who has represented Marquette at the conference championships during both the indoor and outdoor campaigns. His top finishes came in the 10,000 meters and distance medley relay.
