McLaughlin Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Graduate guard averaged 14.3 points over past four games
MILWAUKEE — Marquette women's basketball graduate guard Karissa McLaughlin has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll after a four-game stretch which she averaged 14.3 points per game while shooting 43.3 percent (13-of-30) from 3-point range. Against DePaul, McLaughlin finished with a game-high 24 points including 11 of the team's 14 points in overtime. Against Georgetown, she hit seven triples, just one shy of the program single game record.Â
This is McLaughlin's third Weekly Honor Roll appearance of the season.
BIG EAST Player of the Week
Emma Ronsiek, Creighton, So., F
Ronsiek led the second-place Bluejays to a 3-1 record over the last two weeks, capping the busy stretch with a pair of career-highlighting performances. The sophomore forward was one point shy of her career best when she tallied 27 points off 12-of-16 shooting in Friday's win over Seton Hall, before erupting for a career-best 30 points off 10-of-17 shooting in Sunday's win over St. John's. Against the Red Storm, Ronsiek was 5-of-8 from three and added two blocks. She snagged six boards in each game this weekend and averaged 5.5 over the four-game stretch. Ronsiek added 10 points in last Sunday's setback at then-No. 11 UConn, in what was the Huskies' narrowest margin of victory in the BIG EAST since rejoining the league last season.Â

BIG EAST Freshman of the WeekÂ
Aneesah Morrow, DePaul, Fr., F
Morrow finished third in the BIG EAST in scoring and second in rebounding last week, averaging 19.8 points and 13.0 rebounds as RV/- DePaul went 3-1. The freshman phenom tallied double-doubles in all four games over the last two weeks, with three of the four rebounding totals being game highs. She went for 17 points, 10 rebounds at Providence on Jan. 7, 21 points and 17 rebounds at Marquette on Jan. 12, 18 points and 11 rebounds against Villanova on Friday, and 23 points, 14 rebounds against Georgetown on Sunday. This is Morrow's eighth BIG EAST Freshman of the Week nod. Morrow's 13 double-doubles on the year is tops in Division I.Â

Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, Jr., F – averaged 25.0 points, 10.0 rebounds in a 1-1 road swing at RV/- DePaul and Marquette; game highs of 31 points and 14 rebounds against the Blue Demons and game-best 19 points in win over the Golden Eagles
