Woodward posted seven ground balls and broke MU's single-game caused turnover record with six

NEW YORK – Marquette University close defenseman Mason Woodward was named to the BIG EAST Conference Weekly Honor Roll for men's lacrosse, the league announced on Monday afternoon.
Woodward picked up seven ground balls and caused a career-high six turnovers in Marquette's 12-11 loss to Utah on Saturday afternoon. The defenseman's caused turnover mark broke the program's single-game record of five, set by former BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Year Liam Byrnes on March 6, 2016 against Detroit Mercy. In 22 career games, Woodward is now fourth in MU history with 39 caused turnovers and seventh with 97 ground balls.
It is the third weekly honor earned by a Golden Eagles this season and the third of Woodward's career. The 2021 USILA All-America also earned honor roll recognition twice last season.Â
Woodward and the Golden Eagles are back in action on Tuesday afternoon against No. 16 Michigan at Valley Fields.Â
