LONG ISLAND, N.Y. — The Marquette University men's lacrosse team (2–3, 0–0 BIG EAST) dropped a 19–10 contest to No. 6/4 Harvard (4–0, 0–0 Ivy League) on Saturday in a neutral-site matchup at Gold Star Stadium at Chaminade High School in Long Island, New York.
Jake Bair led the Golden Eagles with four points (3 goals, 1 assist), while Tucker Mullen and Carsen Brandt each recorded hat tricks.
Marquette struck first when Matt Caputo finished a feed from Bair just 1:11 into the game. Bair followed with an unassisted goal, and Mullen added a putback goal to give the Golden Eagles an early 3–0 edge less than three minutes into the contest. Harvard responded before the end of the opening quarter and seized control with six goals in the second period to take a 9–5 lead into halftime.
The Crimson continued to pull away with six third-quarter goals, stretching the advantage to 15–7. Marquette countered with a goal from Brandt in the frame, but Harvard's balanced attack proved too much over the final 15 minutes. The Crimson sealed the outcome in the fourth quarter, outscoring the Golden Eagles 4–3 to secure the 19–10 final.
