MARQUETTE (1-2): Marquette began the season with a triple overtime win at Bellarmine on Feb. 12 but has lost each of its last two games against Jacksonville and Utah. Saturday's home opener against the Utes featured seven ties, including a 10-10 tie with 12:45 remaining in the fourth quarter on freshman Will Foster's first career goal. The Golden Eagles were able to pull within one, 12-11, on a Russell Melendez score with 37 seconds left, but could not convert a tying goal after winning the ensuing faceoff.
Both Foster and Melendez returned to the MU lineup after missing the Feb. 19 game at Jacksonville due to injury. Foster made his first career start against the Utes.

MICHIGAN (5-0): The Wolverines, who entered last weekend in the top five nationally among scoring offenses and defenses, posted at least 20 goals in each of their first four games before a 13-5 win over Cleveland State on Saturday afternoon. Josh Zawada is one of the nation's leading scorers with an average of 8.0 points per game on 23 goals and 17 assists. Zawada scored twice against the Vikings, who trailed U-M, 13-2, entering the fourth quarter on Saturday.
The Wolverines are led by former Maryland assistant coach Kevin Conry, now in his fifth season in Ann Arbor. U-M opened the season with five home games and will return to Michigan for games against Delaware and Harvard the next two weekends.
