Van Kleunen Named to BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll

Graduate forward helped Golden Eagles to a pair of wins last week
NEW YORK — Marquette's Lauren Van Kleunen has been named to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll for her performance in a pair of wins over Providence and Creighton last week. The graduate forward came up big for the Golden Eagles, averaging 16.0 points, 7.5 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game in a 2-0 week for MU. Against Providence, she recorded a game-high 19 pionts to go along with eight boards. On the week, Van Kleunen shot 46.7 percent (14-of-30) from the floor.
This is Van Kleunen's third weekly honor of the season, and the fourth of her career.

Maddy Siegrist, Villanova, Jr., FÂ
Siegrist's hot streak continued with back-to-back 30-point games in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats. The junior tallied 34 points off 15-of-22 shooting in Friday's win at St. John's, adding seven rebounds and two steals. She followed that with 32 points, 14 rebounds, three blocks and two steals against Georgetown on Sunday. For the week, Siegrist averaged 33.0 points, 10.5 rbeounds, 2.0 steals and .675 shooting from the field. Through 10 BIG EAST games, Siegrist is averaging a league-high 27.6 points while ranking second in rebounding at 9.7 per game. She has a BIG EAST-high six 30-point games this season and has Villanova at 12-1 since she returned from injury on Dec. 9.Â

BIG EAST Freshman of the WeekÂ
Azzi Fudd, Connecticut, Fr., G
Fudd shined in the top non-conference win by a BIG EAST team this season as the 10th-ranked Huskies knocked off No. 7 Tennessee on Sunday, 75-56. The freshman guard, playing in just her eighth game, scored a career-high 25 points off 9-of-16 shooting, making 7-of-9 attempts from three, while adding four rebounds and four assists. She logged 39 minutes of turnover-free play. Fudd also helped UConn rally from a double-digit deficit at Creighton on Wednesday, coming off the bench to score 10 second-half points and spark the Huskies to the road win to remain unbeaten in BIG EAST play. For the week she averaged 17.5 points and .571 shooting, including a .750 clip from three.Â
