Eight student-athletes honored for academic and athletic success
The Marquette University men's and women's tennis programs honored eight players at their annual awards banquet, following the conclusion of the 2021-22 campaign.

Redshirt sophomoreĀ Stefan Dragovic claimed the Most Valuable Player Award on the men's side after leading the team with 17 total singles victories in dual competition. He also earned 11 victories in dual doubles action paired with Ian Brady. Dragovic, last season's BIG EAST Freshman of the Year, was named All-BIG EAST First Team for the 2021-22 season.
For the women's team, redshirt senior and 2021-22 BIG EAST Player of the Year, Natalija Popovic, claimed the Most Valuable Player Award. She finished with an overall singles record of 22-9 and led the team with 16 singles victories in dual competition. Popovic was also a unanimous selection to the All-BIG EAST FIRST Team.
The men's Most Improved Player Award was earned by redshirt sophomoreĀ Rami Scheetz. Scheetz competed in all 23 dual matches and he earned seven victories competing in singles.
The women's Most Improved Player Award was claimed by sophomore Lara Kaiser. She concluded the season with nine singles victories and put together a three-match win streak in singles action.Ā

SophomoreĀ Jan Jauch from the men's team and sophomoreĀ Sarah Badawi from the women's team Ā received the Coaches Attitude Award.Ā This honor recognizes the team member with the best work ethic on the court and in the classroom.

Redshirt SophomoreĀ Nathan Balthazor, who is studying biomedical engineering, earned the men's Ā Academic Award. Sophomore Emilija Kojcic, who is studying biological sciences, earned the women's Academic Award.
