
Cross Country Wraps Up Fall Season at NCAA Great Lakes Regional

MADISON- Wis. – The Marquette University men's and women's cross country teams competed at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday in Madison. The men placed 28th, while the women finished 31st.
The women's 6k race kicked off action at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Course. Senior Lexi Keppler led the Golden Eagles with a time of 23:03.0. Keppler finished first for MU in every fall event.
In their first regional, a pair of freshmen finished second and third for MU. Emma Coon finished 177th with a time of 23:28.8, and Brinley Everson placed 193rd with a time of 23:59.6.
Freshman Mia Nutile ran a personal best time of 24:08.2.
On the men's side, senior Dan Weizeorick led the way with a time of 31:51.1 to place 108th in the 10k. Weizeorick finished first for MU in four of his five fall events.
Junior Tyler Re ran a personal best 32:43.3, finishing second for MU and 157th overall. Freshman Nick Parrell finished third for MU in his first collegiate 10k with a time of 32:44.2.
Senior Thomas Leonard set a new 10k PR with his time of 33:25.1.
Notre Dame and Wisconsin earned automatic bids to the NCAA Championships on the women's side. Butler and Wisconsin earned automatic bids on the men's side.
