Second true road game of the season for MU
MILWAUKEE – The No. 19/19 Marquette women's basketball team heads to Normal, Illinois for a matchup at Illinois Sate this Sunday, Dec. 10, at 2 p.m. Central time. It will be the second true road game of the season for MU.
Marquette is coming off an 87-52 win against Penn last Sunday at the Al McGuire Center. Three Golden Eagles scored in double figures, led by Frannie Hottinger who had a season-high 20 points on 9-of-14 shooting with eight rebounds. Mackenzie Hare started 4-of-4 from deep and finished the game with 19 points, going 5-of-6 from beyond the arc.
Hare earned a spot on the conference's weekly honor roll for the second time this season after shooting 83.3 percent from beyond the arc (10-of-12). It was the second week this season she has hit 10 three-pointers over two games.
The Naperville, Illinois native is first in the nation, shooting 59.3 percent from deep (32-of-54) and third in 3-pointers per game (4.0).
The Golden Eagles have shot 50-percent-or-better in 6-of-8 games this season after shooting a season-high 57.9 percent against Penn. MU is first in the BIG EAST and fourth in the nation in shooting percentage (51.9 percent).
