Golden Eagles earn weekend sweep
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University women's tennis team (2-8) claim a weekend sweep Sunday afternoon with a 5-2 over UWM (4-7) at Elite Sports Club – North Shore.
The Golden Eagles opened the match by taking the important doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and 2 positions.
Elizabeth Ferdman claimed the first singles win for the Golden Eagles with a straight-set victory at No. 6, 6-2, 6-0.
Emilija Kojcic and Elisabeth Desmarais also claimed straight-set singles victory for the Golden Eagles at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Desmarais clinched both matches this weekend in outstanding doubles and singles performances.
Junior Sarah Badawi took a singles win at the No. 5 position with a 10-5 tie-break victory.
