MU travels to Xavier and Butler to close regular season
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's tennis team (6-13, 2-3 BIG EAST) will travel to Ohio and Indiana to take on BIG EAST opponents Xavier (11-7, 1-3 BIG EAST) and Butler (12-9, 3-1 BIG EAST) this weekend.
MU comes into the weekend coming off a thrilling win over Villanova (4-3), with senior Stefan Dragovic clinching the match at No. 1 in a tie-break battle. The Golden Eagles are looking to finish the BIG EAST portion of the schedule for good seeding heading into the BIG EAST Tournament held in Cayce, South Carolina.
Xavier University Matchup:
The Golden Eagles and Musketeers first serve is scheduled for 11:00 am CT (Outdoor)/12:30 pm CT (indoor) depending on the weather.
Marquette controls the all-time series against Xavier (9-2), Xavier took the last match between the two programs at the BIG EAST Tournament (4-2).
Butler University Matchup:
First serve vs. Butler is slated for 1:30 pm CT. The match will be played at the Butler's Outdoor Tennis Courts.
The two programs are split even in the all-time series (6-6), Butler has taken the last two matchups from the Golden Eagles in close decisions.
