MU wraps up weekend action at Drake Relays Saturday
WHITEWATER, Wisconsin – The Marquette University track & field team concluded action at the Drake Alternative hosted by UW-Whitewater Friday evening.
The Golden Eagles turned in multiple personal best performances and claimed victory in several events.
Sophomore Kaylee Hopp was the champion of the triple jump with a mark of 11.71m/38-5.00 ft Hopp also placed fourth in the long jump with a mark of 5.27m/17-3.50 ft.
The MU women claimed the top two spots in the high jump. Emma Ludwig was the winner, clearing a height of 1.58m/5-2.25 ft. Freshman Natalia Jackowski was runner-up with a mark of 1.53m/5-0.25 ft.
Gretchen Pfeiffer rolled to a 23-second personal best in the steeplechase with a time of 12:02.82 to take the win.
On the men's side, Cole Donahe was victorious in the javelin throw with a personal best mark of 54.80m/179-09 ft.
Adam Schommer returned to his old track to take home the victory in the pole vault. The former Warhawk cleared a height of 4.73m/15-6.25 ft.
