Woodward broke the MU career ground ball record against Lindenwood on Feb. 9

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky — Marquette University men's lacrosse defenseman Mason Woodward was named to the USILA/Blatant Lacrosse Team of the Week it was announced on Tuesday afternoon.
Woodward scooped up four ground balls in the win over Lindenwood on Friday, Feb. 9 and added one caused turnover. His final ground ball of the game at the 7:12 mark of the third quarter gave him his 219th career ground ball to pass former USILA All-American Liam Byrnes (218) in the MU record book.
The native of Towson, Maryland is a three-time USILA All-American and a member of the organization's preseason all-America second team.
Woodward and the Golden Eagles are 3-0 following Tuesday's 22-8 win over Detroit Mercy and host No. 1 Notre Dame on Sunday afternoon at Valley Fields in Milwaukee.
