Track and Field Completes First Day at 2024 BIG EAST Indoor Championships

CHICAGO – Marquette University track and field completed day one of the 2024 BIG EAST Indoor Championships on Friday.

Mila Puseljic finished third in the women's pentathlon. The graduate student set new PRs in the 800m at 2:31.77 and in the 60m hurdles at 9.34 seconds. Her total of 3213 is the seventh-best total in program history.

Daylee Braden set a new PR in the 400m and qualified for tomorrow's final. Her time of 55.68 seconds is the third-fastest time in MU history.

Dan Weizeorick set a new PR in the mile (4:13.30) to qualify for tomorrow's final.

Junior Julia Beck ran her second-fastest time in the 60m hurdles (9.01) and will run in the finals.

Aaron Hughes qualified for the 60m finals after finishing eighth at 6.87 seconds in the prelims.

Zachariah Murray qualified for the 400m final after finishing in 48.84 seconds in the prelims.

NOTABLES:

Cole Donahe set a new PR in the 60m at 7.39 seconds.
Donahe also set a new PR in the long jump at 6.1m/20ft .25in.
Donahe set a new PR in the high jump at 1.65m/5ft 5in.
Henrik Rosario set a new PR in the heptathlon high jump at 1.71m/5ft 7.25in.
Ava Thomas set a new PR in the 800m at 2:20.87.
Addison Pischke set a new PR in the 200m with a time of 26.94 seconds.
Kaylee Hopp set a new PR in the long jump with a mark of 5.62m/18ft 5.25in.
Pedro Castanon set a new PR in the weight throw with a mark of 14.15m/46ft 5.25in.

DAY TWO:

Second day of competition at the 2024 BIG EAST Indoor Championship starts at 11 a.m. CT with the 3000m and shot put.
