Golden Eagles return home for Senior Night Tuesday against St. John’s
MILWAUKEE – The Marquette women's basketball team dominated Xavier, 86-60, on Saturday at Cintas Center.
The Golden Eagles (21-6, 10-6 BIG EAST) were led by Mackenzie Hare, who had 23 points and five 3's, her seventh game hitting 5-or-more 3's this season.
Liza Karlen had her sixth double-double in the last eight games with 11 points and 10 rebounds. Frannie Hottinger had her fifth double-double of the season and second in February with 10 points and 11 rebounds.
Rose Nkumu had 13 points and seven assists while fellow senior Jordan King had 11 points.
Marquette dominated 16-0 in second chance points and outrebounded the Musketeers 39-21. The Golden Eagles had 25 assists on 31 baskets.
Xavier (1-24, 0-16 BIG EAST) was led by Mackayla Scarlett who had 15 points.

- With the win, Marquette is guaranteed a top five finish in the BIG EAST regular season standings and will receive a bye into the quarterfinals on Saturday, March 9.
- First time this season all starters finished in double-figures.
- Second time this season two Golden Eagles recorded double-doubles in the same game. Rose Nkumu (12 points, 10 assists) and Liza Karlen (10 points, 10 rebounds) had double-doubles in the season-opening win against UT Martin.
- Jordan King moved into sixth on the all-time scoring list with 1,754 career points. King passed Kristen Maskala who had 1,745 points from 1991-94.
- King moved into ninth on the all-time 3's made list with 156 career 3-pointers. King passed McKayla Yentz who had 155 from 2013-17.
- Liza Karlen moved into 23rd on the all-time scoring list with 1,215 career points. Karlen passed Courtney Romeiser who had 1,204 points from 1989-93.
- Mackenzie Hare moved into fourth on the single season 3's made list with 81 3-pointers this season. Hare passed Tatiyiana McMorris who hit 80 3's during the 2010-11 season.
- Rose Nkumu finished with seven assists. Nkumi is 11th in the nation in assist-to-turnover ratio (2.85) and has 15 games with 5-or-more assists this season.
- Liza Karlen finished with 10 points and 11 rebounds, her sixth double-double in the last eight games.
- Mackenzie Hare fiished with 23 points on five 3's for her fourth 20-point game of the season. Hare is ninth in the nation in 3-point percentage (44.4 percent) and is first in the BIG EAST with 81 3's this season.
- Marquette returns home for Senior Night against St. John's on Tuesday, Feb. 27. Tipoff from the Al McGuire Center is at 7:30 p.m. CT and the game will be broadcast on FS1.
