
Track and Field Wraps Up Weekend Competition at Redbird Challenge

First weekend of outdoor competition for Marquette
NORMAL, Ill. – Marquette University track and field wrapped up weekend competition at the Redbird Challenge on Saturday.
"Solid opening weekend in Saint Louis and Normal," said Bert Rogers. "We had a couple big PRs in the distance races and Dan had a really good time in his steeplechase. Grace Mager had a good start with her top 10 mark in the javelin."
Saturday was highlighted by Annika Bynum's first place finish in the high jump at 1.60m.
Marquette had multiple top five finishes in the javelin on the men's and women's sides.
Grace Mager took second with a mark of 38.22m and freshman Riley Ward placed third in her first collegiate meet with a mark of 36.47m. Fellow freshman Tessa Hollander placed fifth at 36.01m.
Caleb Venzke set a new PR to place second in the javelin with a mark of 51.22m. Freshman Henrik Rosario finished third in his first collegiate meet with a mark of 48.63m.
Haneefa Adam placed eighth in the long jump at 5.23m and third in the triple jump at 11.43m.
John Pitta placed third in the triple jump at 13.55m.
Christian Peterson finished fifth in the 400m with a time of 50.72 seconds, 0.28 seconds off his personal best. K.T. Thomas finished seventh (52.47 seconds) in the same event.
Siani Brown-Carr finished sixth in the 200m at 26.25 seconds. Addison Pischke finished 12th in the 200m at 26.75 seconds in her first outdoor meet.
Zachariah Murray placed seventh in the 200m at 22.27 seconds, 0.01 seconds off his personal best.
Pedro Castanon finished 10th in the weight throw at 42.18m.
