Tennis Teams Set For 2024 BIG EAST Championships

CAYCE, S.C. - The Marquette University men's and women's tennis teams will open play at the 2024 BIG EAST Conference Championships this week, hosted by the league in Cayce, S.C.

The women's team is seeded eighth in the 11-team field and will face ninth seeded Butler on Thursday, April 18 in the first round at 8 a.m. CT. The winner between the Golden Eagles and Bulldogs will face No. one seeded Xavier at 8 a.m. CT on Friday, April 19 in the quarterfinals.

The men's team have been voted the No. eight seed in the eight-team field and will face first-seeded St. John's at 8 a.m. CT on Friday, April 19 in the quarterfinals.

The team champions for both the men and women earn the league's automatic bid to the NCAA Championships.

Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center will host the championship for the eight consecutive year. The facility offers 30 lighted world-class courts with a championship-sized stadium court that has a viewing capacity of approximately 500 spectators. There are seven dedicated 38' courts for 8 & Under Tennis. Courts are complete with a small central gazebo, iced water coolers and electrical outlets on every court for ball-machine use.

The Men's and Women's Championship matches will be streamed live on the BIG EAST Digital Network (BEDN) on FloSports. Live coverage of the Men's Championship will begin on Sunday at 9 a.m. ET, while the live broadcast of the Women's Championship gets underway at 1 p.m.
