Evans is a faceoff specialist from Pittsburgh
Grant Evans is a graduate faceoff specialist from Pittsburgh and was a member of the BIG EAST All-Academic Team in 2022-23. He has played in 19 games in his two years at Marquette and took 171 draws for the Golden Eagles. He ended his NCAA Division I career with a .538 faceoff win percentage.
1. What is your proudest moment as a Marquette lacrosse player?
Evans: Going 75% and scoring a goal against Penn State in the upset win in 2023.
2. What is your most memorable experience with the team?
Evans: It's hard to pick one but just travel in general. All the boys being together and messing around.
3. What's the best advice you could offer future Marquette lacrosse players?
Evans: Buy in early. It's a limited amount of time and it flies by. Create the player you want to be.
4. Most memorable game? Why?
Evans: Penn State in 2023. We upset them. I scored and went 75% at the faceoff.
5. What has motivated you?
Evans: My family. They have worked so hard to allow me to play lacrosse. I love seeing them at games and I want to work my butt off to thank them for everything they've done for me.
6. How do you think you've changed as a player or person over your career at Marquette?
Evans: I have become more disciplined. When I want to achieve something I set a plan and stick to it.
7. What is your favorite thing about the city of Milwaukee? Why?
Evans: The Third Ward in nice weather. So many people are out and there is so much to do.
8. What have you learned that you will take with you as you move on from MU?
Evans: I learned adversity is a good thing. It helps you grow and achieve things you never thought were possible.
9. Who is a teammate that has inspired you? Why?
Evans: Devon Cowan and Jackson Rose. Both were so easy to talk to and learn from. They were the best of friends off the field and the way they trained and approached lacrosse was so professional.
