Tennis Teams Host Annual Awards Banquet

Kojcic and Roegner named Most Valuable Players
MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's and women's tennis programs honored seven players at their annual awards banquet, following the conclusion of the 2023-24 campaign.

Sophomore Blake Roegner claimed the Most Valuable Player Award and Most Improved Player Award on the men's side after leading the team with eight total singles victories in dual competition at the No. 1 spot. He also earned eight victories in dual doubles action paired with Tin Krstulovic.

For the women's team, Senior Emilija Kojcic, claimed the Most Valuable Player Award. She finished with nine singles victories in dual competition.

The women's Most Improved Player Award was claimed by senior Tiana Windbuchler. She concluded the season with seven singles victories and put together 10 wins in doubles action with Emma Davis.

Senior Jan Jauch from the men's team and senior Sarah Badawi from the women's team received the Coaches Attitude Award. This honor recognizes the team member with the best work ethic on the court and in the classroom.

Graduate student Nathan Balthazor, who is studying biomedical engineering, earned the men's Academic Award. Senior Lara Kaiser, who is studying exercise physiology, earned the women's Academic Award.

Balthazor also was honored with the Captains Award, this award is given to the team captain that exemplified leadership all season long for the program.
